Serinus mozambicus

Yellow-eyed Canary Serin du Mozambique Mosambikgirlitz Canario de Mozambique, Verdón Cantador Afrikansk kanariefågel Geelvoorhoofd-kanarie, Mozambiquesijs Canarino del Mozambico

Kenya: Common in moist scrub in the West and along the coast.
A gregarious canary except when breeding. They generally ocur in small flocks foraging on the ground for food. Their diet consists of grass, seeds, young shoots and insects. They also take nectar when breeding and increase the percentage of insects in their diet. Can be confused with the
White-bellied Canary but the Yellow-fronted is entirely yellow below. Confusion mostly occurs in the S because dorsostriatus the southern race of the White-bellied Canary shows far less white on its belly.

World: Widespread S of 15°N except for the equatorial lowland forests and the very arid SW regions.
