Bathing is very important to canaries because in order for them to fly, their feathers must be clean and free of debris. Fortunately, your bird has the instinct and urge to bathe himself, and you don’t have to do anything more than offer a shallow dish of tepid water (about 1” [2.5 cm] should be sufficient) every day to keep him clean. Most canaries will also bathe in their regular water dish, making it necessary to clean the water at least twice a day.
