The 1st edition of the Portuguese Guitar Festival - Algarve 2010 is the first event in the region of Algarve dedicated exclusively to the promotion of the Portuguese guitar.
This event will take place in the city of Faro between the 10th and the 13th of June, in the Lethes Theater, with a varied and attractive program intended for the general public. The Festival will present great names of the Portuguese Guitar related just as much to the musical panorama as to the art of the making of this instrument.
The Festival’s program will consist of a cycle of concerts: “Guitarra Portuguesa com Grandes Mestres” (“The great masters of Portuguese guitar”), exhibition: Guitarra Portuguesa com Futuro (“Portuguese Guitar with Future”) and informal conferences and concerts with highly regarded musicians and the new generations of Portuguese guitar players: “Guitarras em Tertúlia” (“Gathering of Guitars”).
