A origem da palavra “Sedeelos” deriva provavelmente
da expressão latina “setanellu”, podendo referir-se a uma espécie de
nespereira, certa variedade de alho ou cebola silvestre, abundantes em
Sedielos na época em que o povoado se formou.
Na antiga zona comum a Sedielos e Fontes, D. Egas
Moniz foi dono de propriedades, compradas a Múnio Peres, em 1136, por
uma quantia considerável para a época: 300 maravedis.
Em 1205, D. Sancho
I, ao povoar as terras de Penaguião, organizou um pequeno Município
rudimentar em que o território aforado era bastante extenso. Em 1933, os
limites setentrionais da freguesia de Sedielos eram os atribuídos,
nesta parte, ao município rudimentar Fontes-Tabuadelo-Crastelo:
“dividit… cum Tavoadel de Jusao et cum Vinios (Vinhos) et cum Ferreirea
(Ferraria) e cum Ermitã (Ermida).
As casas de xisto constituem um dos aspectos mais
interessantes desta freguesia, erguendo-se entre ruelas estreitas e
terrenos plantados de vinha. Por toda a freguesia, o turista encontrará
capelas, igrejas e um cruzeiro dignos de serem visitados.
A freguesia de
Vinhós situa-se nas fraldas da serra do Marão, sendo o lugar da Ermida o
mais abrupto, onde fica a célebre "Fraga da Ermida", onde a águia real
faz o ninho. A Igreja Matriz cuja construção data de 1739 merece uma
visita.
