«O ornitólogo»

O realizador português João Pedro Rodrigues conquistou hoje o Leopardo para Melhor Realização no Festival de Locarno com o filme «O ornitólogo», segundo a informação sobre o palmarés disponibilizada no 'site' do festival.

«O ornitólogo» é uma ficção sobre um investigador cuja vida se altera completamente, durante um trabalho de campo numa floresta.

João Pedro Rodrigues foi já distinguido em Locarno, em 2012, uma menção especial do júri, pela longa-metragem «A última vez que vi Macau», uma obra assinada com João Rui Guerra da Mata.

The fifth feature from Portuguese arthouse treasure Joao Pedro Rodrigues stars French actor Paul Hamy as Fernando, a man whose life bears a striking resemblance to St Anthony's.The story of Saint Anthony of Lisbon (aka Anthony of Padua) is given a contemporary and highly personal queer makeover in The Ornithologist (O Ornitologo), the remarkable fifth feature from Portuguese iconoclastic Joao Pedro Rodrigues (O Fantasma, To Die Like a Man). 
This gorgeously realized feature, shot entirely outdoors, explores the agony and ecstasy of a birdwatcher called Fernando, whose encounters after an accident in a nature reserve start to echo elements of the life of Anthony of Padua, the patron of both people and things lost.
