Balalaica балала́йка

A balalaica é um instrumento de cordas do folclore russo e típico da música russa.
Ela possui 3 cordas, sendo duas delas com uma afinação igual, e a terceira afinada uma quarta acima, similar a do bandolim e a do cavaquinho.

A caixa de ressonância tem uma forma piramidal, e o braço do instrumento situa-se no vértice dessa pirâmide. É construída em 6 tamanhos, desde o piccolo até o contra.
