Hairy Canary

This is the band that should have been really kickin' it out, but strangely only made into the studio to record a demo. Even though it was picked up by "Popular Talent" booking agency, one of the biggest in Austin, Hairy Canary never played a gig. A 4 piece rock band, Hairy Canary featured quintessential keyboard and vocalist (lead vocals on You're Mama Don't Dance) Steve Oneill of MTV and Cannes Film Festival fame, Austin transplant, Marley Foreman, on bass guitar and vocals ( lead vocals on You Really Got Me) and East Coast Drummer, Bryan Smith, with several major label albums to his credit. About the music:
It has been said of Nick Drake that you could turn the volume up all the way and it would never be loud. The same can be said for the more relaxed song from the Canary's two-track debut. Its liquid organs, raspy vocals and delicate percussion never reach above a whisper, breezing past rather than assaulting listeners. To borrow from Sly Stone: "Pretty, pretty, pretty as a picture." Why to know it.
Because this band says more in two tracks than most do in 12.

Canary
This is a picture with a message. If you have been to Greece you know that canary birds are often kept in small cages outside people's homes or shops. The cage is small and the bird is unhappy. Here we see a hero-bird rescuing the canary from the bad people. Just look at all the astonished faces popping up everywhere in the city screaming and wondering what is happening.
