AVE, PÁSSARO
Livro de poemas de Cleonice Bourscheid e e imagens de Isolde Bosak
Ave, Pássaro é o dueto das autoras, Cleonice Bourscheid, poeta, e Isolde Bosak, artista plástica, na forma de um livro de poemas sobre os pássaros do sul meridional, estruturado com a ousadia da expressão plástica contemporânea dos mesmos. Constituiu-se, esta obra, num desafio do professor Charles Kiefer com Cleonice e Isolde, nas suas específicas atribuições, palavras e imagens. Charles Kiefer faz a apresentação do livro. O resultado é uma cuidada edição de arte, com capa dura, em quatro cores sobre papel couchê fosco 170g. No lançamento da Editora Nova Prova, estão 88 páginas com a delicadeza de uma pequena sinfonia das dezenas de aves que emprestam o seu canto na poesia de Cleonice Bourscheid e suas cores e movimentos nas imagens (aquarelas, desenhos, monotipias e xilogravuras) de Isolde Bosak.

In the Belly of the green bird
Nir Rosen has been hailed by The New York Review of Books as the reporter who managed to get inside Fallujah "at a time when it was a death trap for Western reporters," and as one of the few Western reporters able to report the truth from Iraq. Still in his twenties, a freelancer who has written for The New York Times Magazine, The Atlantic Monthly, and Harper's Magazine, Rosen speaks Iraqi-accented Arabic and has managed to report from some of the country's most dangerous locales. Even The Weekly Standard notes that "he probably has more sources in the insurgency than any other American reporter."

The depth of discord between Sunnis and Shias is difficult to fathom without listening to them. Their anti-Americanism is much more recent, but not much less intense. The divisions within this cobbled-together country, much like those within Yugoslavia after Tito, are simply too intense to contain.

Sofie Laguna
Sugar boy gave me the name Bird, otherwise I'm James Burdell. I live with my dad who has a big tattoo that says Live to Ride. He is so strong he can lift up a car, but he can't tell me what he's thinking. Maybe he's thinking about my mother who shot through.
Sugar Boy is my best friend. We hang around down at the river, in the bush tunnel, or beside the railway tracks riding our bikes fast enough to beat the train. There's only two of us, but we're the whole team.
I don't know what would happen if I didn't have Sugar Boy . . .
